Summary
Rashida bibi, 25, is a resident of a village in Tehsil Yazman District Bahawalpur. She was diagnosed with gallstones few months ago and doctors told her that gallstones could be diluted/removed through medicine. So, she has been taking medicine for few months now but of no gain. Finally doctor has told that her gallstones can not be removed with medicine and she needs an immediate surgery. She feels severe pain and relying on the injection/tablets to relieve the pain.
Her husband has a small shop (khokha) in front of a private school of the village and sells small things to kids. She also had appendicitis operation last year. So, they have exhausted all of the savings/loans on the medicine. Due to covid and schools closure, her husband’s khokha has been shut for several months now so they hardly meet daily food needs of the household. In these circumstances, it’s not possible for them to arrange money for gallstone operation.
We have tried to arrange for this operation in Bahawal Victoria Hospital but they refused to do it before 9 august (after 40 days). We
